Barcelona star Neymar insists he is not focusing on trying to surpass Lionel Messi as the best in the world.
The Brazilian has been tipped to challenge Messi for the Ballon d'Or this year after the duo guided Barcelona to victory in the Champions League last season.
However, the 23-year-old is not aiming to be better than anyone else but to keep improving his own game.
It is not my goal to try to surpass Messi,' Neymar told SporTV
'I am just trying to follow my own career path. I want to keep on doing the things that I have been doing, to win titles and to achieve my goals, but I am not attempting to be better than anyone else. My goal is to keep improving myself.'
Neymar has been excused from Barcelona's US tour and so will not face Chelsea on Tuesday night having represented Brazil at the Copa America.
